Inspired by the recent Unicita D’Italia exhibition celebrating Italy’s Unification and cultural uniqueness, Italy’s Ministry of Economic Development has teamed up with Fondazione Valore Italy and the ADI Foundation to showcase the archival collection of the Compasso d’Oro.
The collection is a unique and impressive record of a nation’s evolution of artisanship and it’s no wonder they’re so proud of it. Italians can unite under their legacy of leadership not only in design, but also in quality of production.
With some of the best and most revered lighting companies in the world calling Italy home, it’s no surprise that the collection being showcased features many lighting fixtures that have won the Compasso d’Oro in the past. We’ll be featuring some of these very special luminaires in our Spotlight section of our blog very soon.

The exhibition runs between March 31st and September 25th, 2011 in Rome at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni and the Pelanda presso il Museo Macro-Testaccio. For more information visit the Unicita d’Italia’s official site.
