Antoni Gaudi’s modernist monuments that give so much character to the surrounding cityscape are obvious reference points for Urquiola’s beautiful and organic approach to the interior aesthetics of this midcentury bank turned hotel.
Scrupulous perfectionism and a curated synthesis of fluidity and geometry define the space inside, and nowhere is this more cemented than in her choice of lighting and furniture (much of which she herself designed). Choosing from Foscarini (including her own design – the Caboche), Flos, Metalarte and Marset, Urquiola shows her taste to be outstanding the whole way through.
